Kristin Armstrong Counseling
I work from an integrative, person-centered model and my goal is to provide a safe, productive, loving environment to produce healing. Together we will determine your best course toward transformation, expansion, and peace.
I believe we are always changing, constantly shifting roles, responsibilities, identities and intentions throughout all the seasons of life.
As an author, I am familiar with the idea of story and I think we are all writing our own narratives all the time. As a therapist, I help people edit, re-write and re-work their life stories, stepping out of old roles and patterns that no longer resonate, and wholeheartedly embracing the unveiling of authentic self.
I have worked with adolescents, and with women and men going through all kinds of rites of passage like fertility issues, new parenthood, empty nest, identity and career reinvention, spiritual awakening, divorce, co-parenting and step-parenting.
To me, there is no one size fits all method of healing and transformation.
I can work cognitively, to address thought patterns and beliefs that need refining and reframing. I can work from a solution-focused perspective, if what you need is to efficiently address a current, pressing issue. I can work narratively, if you are needing to work on your role or identity, your storyline, and strengthening your voice, especially during a time of change. I am trained in EMDR, and can integrate this modality to address trauma, loosen stuck places, shift pain and perspectives locked in old mindsets, and create new templates for the future. Together we will determine what is the best course of action for our work together, and move forward with intention, gentleness, and connection. Whatever you are facing, you don’t have to face it alone.
