Food, movement and mindset are my pillars of health. As a mom of two little ones, an INFJ, enneagram 4, Vata-Kapha, heart-on-my-sleeve kind of woman, staying grounded is essential for my well being. In times of anxiety, I trust a coconut curry, breath work and a walk on town lake trail with a friend to keep me centered.
I am passionate about empowering others to find what centers them. With modern lab testing and ancient Ayurvedic tradition, I love to support folks on their journey to restore and maintain balance. When I’m not studying epigenetics or cooking in my kitchen, I’m often drinking coffee, running, or generally being a jungle gym for my kids, Shepherd & Ruth.
Pio Wellness was created by Jen Massman, a certified Integrative Health Practitioner and AADP recognized holistic health coach. Jen has a passion for evidence based medicine and empowering others to achieve and sustain optimal health and wellbeing. Her passion for nutrition and movement to support a balanced mind is what motivates Jen to continue to learn and grow as a practitioner.
Jen’s own health issues led her to whole body healthcare as she sought solutions and treatments that would not just alleviate her symptoms but correct her underlying imbalances. Chronic stress and anxiety ultimately led Jen to develop a host of digestive issues and years of hormonal amenorrhea. A greater sense of awareness of the food she was eating, the environment she was in, her thoughts and mindset as well as the lifestyle she was living motivated her to make the changes she needed to improve her health and wellbeing. Each step of her health journey has brought new understanding and an open minded approach to healthcare, combining the best of Eastern and Western practices to optimize outcomes. She is always eager to learn and follow the latest research as well as relying on ancient Ayurvedic tradition to maintain whole body health and will encourage you to do the same!
Jen’s personal heath experiences have taught her that holistic health care requires an individualized approach, as each of us has our own unique symptoms, issues, concerns and goals! There is no best diet for all people and our own dietary needs change with the seasons. Jen works to uncover the root cause of your symptoms and empower you to find equilibrium.
